The Digital Information Department (DID) of Van Buren County has carefully reviewed and selected a set of AI technologies that meet our standards for utility, security, and accessibility. These tools are now officially endorsed for staff use.

However, even with these vetted tools, we must remain mindful of data privacy concerns. Remember: restricted or sensitive information should never be uploaded to any AI tool. Read on to discover the tools you can use and the best practices for responsible AI usage.
DID-Approved AI Tools
Here’s the list of AI technologies now available for use:
1. ChatGPT
ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, is a conversational AI tool that assists with idea generation, drafting content, and answering knowledge-based questions. It's perfect for brainstorming, drafting emails, or even writing reports.
2. Notebook LM
Notebook LM by Google is an AI-powered note-taking tool that offers insights from your existing documents. This tool is excellent for organizing projects, synthesizing research, and answering queries based on your uploaded content.
3. Claude
Claude, developed by Anthropic, is a versatile AI assistant designed to help with writing, coding, and brainstorming. It’s known for its focus on user intent and easy-to-use interface, making it a great tool for everyday productivity.
4. TurboScribe
TurboScribe is an AI transcription tool that makes it easy to turn recorded meetings or interviews into accurate, editable text. It's ideal for documenting discussions, creating meeting minutes, and more.
5. Chatbase
Chatbase powers tools like Marty and MapBuddy, the County’s AI assistants for public inquiries. These chatbots offer quick and accurate responses to community questions, helping to reduce staff workload and enhance citizen engagement.
6. Napkin
Napkin AI specializes in creating business graphics and diagrams. Whether you need flowcharts, organizational charts, or process diagrams, Napkin AI helps turn ideas into clear, professional visuals. It’s a great tool for staff working on presentations, reports, or strategic planning.
7. Gamma
Gamma is an AI tool for creating visually appealing presentations and documents. It simplifies the process of turning ideas into engaging slides or reports, saving time while maintaining professionalism.
8. Copilot
Microsoft Copilot integrates with Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to assist with document creation, data analysis, and presentation design. It’s a seamless way to enhance your productivity within tools you already use daily.
